A distância, tema central do novo álbum, surge no novo single “Mãe” em uma narrativa que debate sobre as tensões, inversões de papéis e invisibilidades nas relações familiares. O novo single mantém a mescla de timbres orgânicos e eletrônicos presentes na primeira faixa revelada, “Leito Frio”, enquanto apresenta instrumental mais vibrante e brasileiro. As guitarras e sintetizadores são incisivos e dialogam com uma cozinha suingada. Apresentando a pluralidade de atmosferas criadas no álbum, essa versatilidade é um sinônimo na Barcamundi nesses cinco anos de carreira. Os arranjos da banda flertam com o rock alternativo e a pós-MPB, promovendo um encontro de Radiohead com Gilberto Gil, Wilco com Rodrigo Amarante.
O grupo formado por Gabriela Autran (escaleta, synth e backing vocal), Gil Navarro (bateria), João Barreira (voz, violão e guitarra), Leon Navarro (guitarra, pífano, clarinete, escaleta, marimbau e backing vocal), Matheus Ribeiro (guitarra e trompete) e Pedro Chabudé (baixo) iniciou a trajetória em 2013 em Niterói (RJ) e, em 2015, lançou o disco de estreia, homônimo. As canções chamavam atenção por seus arranjos múltiplos, caminhando entre a MPB setentista e o britpop e indie rock dos anos 90 e 2000, ao mesmo tempo em que flertavam com o folk e o pop.

Após passar por alguns dos principais palcos do Rio de Janeiro e colher elogios na mídia especializada, a Barcamundi ampliou sua discografia em 2016 ao lançar o EP audiovisual “Revoada”, uma parceria com o trio Gragoatá. Mesclando repertório dos dois grupos, o trabalho trouxe ainda duas novas músicas: “Balão” e “Amor Concreto”, canções que estarão presentes no segundo álbum da Barcamundi.
A banda divide a produção do novo disco com Hugo Noguchi, instrumentista de grupos como Posada e o Clã, SLVDR e Ventre, e produtor dos bem recebidos álbuns de Luíza Boê e Contando Bicicletas. Além da produção musical, Noguchi também assina a mixagem. A masterização ficou a cargo de Matheus Gomes. A capa do single tem ilustração original de Daniel Porto, com ilustração e projeto gráfico de Adriene Araújo. O novo disco da Barcamundi está previsto para o segundo semestre de 2018.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players through the years than I will count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to at least one type of players. Why? Because I was happy to find out how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.
Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
